Emilia Pauline Liao, M.D. is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell Health and is the program director for the endocrinology fellowship at Lenox Hill Hospital. She is a member of the Katz Institute for Women's Health. Dr. Liao grew up a Jersey girl (but is now a converted New Yorker) and attended Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She graduated medical school from Albany Medical College and completed residency in internal medicine at Rutgers NJ Medical School in Newark, NJ, where she was Chief Resident in her third year. She completed endocrinology fellowship at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. She has participated in multiple diabetes clinical trials (as principal investigator or co-investigator) and has authored publication on various endocrine topics including diabetes, hypoparathyroidism, osteoporosis, and polycystic ovary syndrome. She is editor of the book, "Extraskeletal Effects of Vitamin D" published by Springer.
