AUSTIN, Texas - The Austin Police Department says a barricaded subject in Northeast Austin is now in custody. APD says the man was involved in a family violence situation and "experiencing a mental health crisis".

A SWAT situation is currently underway in northeast Austin. Austin police reported that a person had barricaded themselves just before 1:30 p.m. on Bartholdi Street, which is in a neighborhood near Dessau Road and East Parmer Lane.

A SWAT team has been deployed to a northeast Austin neighborhood, where a person is barricaded inside a residence, police said.The Austin Police Department said

Residents were ordered to shelter in place Sunday after SWAT was called out to south Austin. The order has since been lifted.

Drivers are asked to avoid the area since some roadways may be blocked off.
