Thursday will be our first chance for rain over the course of the next few days. We’ll start off partly cloudy, then rain chances will increase as we go throughout the day. First Alert Weather Days have been declared for Friday and Saturday.

SATURDAY: A couple of rounds of rain or storms are possible, one early in the morning and the main round Saturday night. It will be very windy with gusts at 60+ mph Saturday night. The tornado risk is low but not zero. A HIGH WIND WATCH is already out for the higher elevations of the Smokies. Highs will be in the low 70s.

The First Alert Weather Team regards a cool but nice night under clear skies with temperatures reaching the 50s by Thursday morning.

Temperatures rise and here comes severe weather in the First Alert Forecast, Weather Aware Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday

A series of disturbances will bring the potential for three rounds of storms to the Mid-South with the first one moving in late tonight followed by another round Friday night and a third round Saturday.

We are putting out the First Alert as an upper low pushes across the country. Stronger storms will develop to our north. There is a reasonable risk of severe storms that could develop tornadoes beginning Friday to our north and west and moving east through the day.

We have another beautiful day on tap for today, with mostly sunny skies. Highs expected in the upper 70s and southwest winds developing around 10-15 mph. Tonight: Look for increasing clouds, with lows in the mid 50s and south winds around 5 mph.
