Starting this week, iOS users globally will be able to access 'Search Screen with Google Lens' via the three-dot menu on both the Google app and Chrome, essentially eliminating the need for screenshots when attempting to analyze on-screen context via Google Lens.

Google Lens Screen Search is rolling out now with Chrome 133 for iOS and the latest version of the Google (Search) app.

Google is introducing two small but meaningful enhancements to its Lens technology. To start, Chrome and Google app users on iPhone can now draw, highlight or tap on text and images to carry out a visual search of what they see in front of them.

The feature appears to be a limited version of Android's Circle to Search, contained within a few apps. Will it convince some Apple lovers to jump ship, or at least ditch Safari?
