Heavy rain pounded the Los Angeles area early Thursday, bringing a threat of flooding and debris flows to spots impacted by wildfires.
Though wildfires around Los Angeles are contained, foothill communities remain at risk of debris flows. Heavy rain could trigger dangerous mudslides in burn areas like Altadena and Pasadena.
"Potential for heavy rain over the burn scars may trigger hazardous and damaging flooding and debris flows," the weather service warned. "Flooding may also occur in poor drainage and urban areas." ...
