Billed by Sotheby’s as “the world’s most important, desirable, and legendary motorcar,” the 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO by Scaglietti certainly has some high expectations to live up to.
Ferrari already built a V-12–powered open car, the 250 GT Pininfarina Cabriolet, based on the PF Coupe, so the body work for the new California Spider was handed over to Scaglietti.
