The film is inspired by the theater of the absurd and mainly by theatrical texts by Ionesco and Pinter but also by the original myth of Iphigenia which symbolizes sacrifice.

In the original myth, Iphigenia was the daughter of King Agamenon, who was forced to sacrifice her to appease the goddess Artemis and allow the Greek fleet to sail to Troy for the Trojan War.
