Nearly one million people were granted parole in the United States as they pursued their asylum cases through the application. At least 30,000 CBP One appointments across the southern border were canceled, with over 270,000 migrants continuing to log in daily to seek an appointment.

Victoria Meijia Garcia, 31, opened the CBP One app at 10 a.m. Monday as she did every day for the past several months, seeking an available appointment with an asylum official. But today, the top of the familiar homepage blared a message that filled her with dismay.

Trump, meanwhile, has additional executive orders awaiting his signature as he returns to the White House for the first time since his swearing-in earlier in the day. Those documents would end diversity, equity and inclusion funding, crack down on border crossings and ease regulations on oil and natural gas production.

On the day of President Donald Trump's inauguration, the government application CBP One, which migrants used to submit a legal visa application, ceased functioning. The CBP One application was introduced by Joe Biden's administration to reduce illegal crossings of the Mexico-US border.
