WASHINGTON (Gray DC) - President Trump on Friday will be making the first trip since his inauguration – traveling to the disaster zones in Asheville, North Carolina and Southern California.

Hurricane Helene toppled trees over 820,000 acres of forest in western North Carolina in September. Now that debris could dry into kindling.

NORTH CAROLINA, USA — Wildfires have destroyed thousands of homes across Los Angeles and Southern California. Many residents are now faced with how to move forward. Federal, state, and local agencies, along with various organizations, are actively assisting those affected by the wildfires.

On Jan. 7, Whataburger officially broke into the North Carolina market with a groundbreaking ceremony at 2060 US Highway 70 SE in Hickory, about an hour east of Asheville. It's slated to open in the summer.
