Tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump this week are sparking widespread fears of an economic fallout and direct impacts to leading Kentucky industries.
"When you have the two Republican senators and the Democratic governor all saying something's a bad idea... it's 'cause it's a bad idea," Beshear said.
“Look at Martinrea, on the auto industry, this is a Canadian company where parts go from Canada to Hopkinsville, Kentucky, to Mexico, and back. If these tariffs are ultimately put on the auto industry, and a company like that, it’s gonna hurt exports. It’s gonna hurt our economy,” said Governor Beshear.
