Tennessee's public schools could soon be required to teach that the keys to a successful life include following a proper sequence of events: high school, job or higher education, marriage and then children.

The bill's sponsors hope to trigger a legal battle to challenge a longstanding U.S. Supreme Court ruling guaranteeing education access for all kids.

On Wednesday, the House Education Committee passed a bill allowing schools to refuse the enrollment of undocumented students or charge them tuition. HB 0793/SB 0836, has been top of mind for many protestors at the Capitol since it was first introduced in February.
