We could have a few worries this week with our weather in the ArkLaTex. Heavy rain is likely on Tuesday and possibly Wednesday with isolated areas of flooding possible. Strong to severe storms will be possible for part of the area on Saturday.

A slow-moving frontal system will bring rounds of heavy rain and a threat of flooding to Western North Carolina and the upstate.

Tuesday and Wednesday are First Alert Weather Days. Watch for localized flooding of poor drainage areas. Poor driving conditions are expected, so be sure to allow extra travel time. Widespread rain will develop by sunrise, Tuesday. Rain is expected for much of the day.

Winter Storm Warnings are out for many areas with Flood Watches across southern Kentucky. The main snowfall happens from early Tuesday morning through Tuesday evening. This will be followed by another big rain maker on Wednesday and that likely causes more flooding issues.

A Tsunami Advisory was issued on Saturday evening following 7.6 magnitude earthquake, which occurred southwest of the Cayman Islands in the Northwest Pacific. The National Tsunami Warning Center said sea-level fluctuations and strong ocean currents were possible in the aftermath of the earthquake but the threat did not rise to a Tsunami Warning.

An unsettled weather pattern will bring multiple chances for rain to Alabama next week. Above is the seven-day precipitation outlook. It is suggesting that parts of north and central Alabama could possibly see 5 inches of rain over the next week.
