The €200 note contains several complex security features such as watermarks, invisible ink, holograms and microprinting that document its authenticity. The design of the Europa series 200 euro banknote was revealed on 17 September 2018 and launched on 28 May 2019.

There are seven different denominations of euro banknotes: €5, €10, €20, €50, €100, €200, and €500.

Introduced gradually over several years, the Europa series consists of six denominations: €5, €10, €20, €50, €100 and €200. The first banknotes started circulating in 2013, and the series was completed in May 2019 when the €100 and €200 banknotes were issued.
