May 17, 2022 · At the end of the movie him and his friends decide to stay in Africa and Alex becomes the Alpha Lion. It seems that he happily accepted his new life with his parents in Africa but in the sequel him and his friends want to return to the New York Zoo. Why's that?

Alex had been sad for ruining the lives of his parents, did not realize that Marty also had his problems, and because of that he unintentionally said very hurtful things. When Alex decided to leave the reserve, he wanted to apologize to Marty before leaving.

Feb 2, 2024 · Alex, Gloria and Melman find him missing in the middle of the night and decide to rescue him. They find him at the Grand Central but before they know it, the police surround the quartet. A zoo keeper shoots a tranquiliser at Alex and he loses consciousness.

On his first night back in Africa, Alex is told by his parents the sad story of his disappearance, which he doesn't even remember due to mentally blocking it out at such a young age. Zuba says he tracked the hunters for weeks but never found him, which we know is due to the fact that Alex's crate was knocked into the river.

Alex, Marty, Melman and Gloria enjoy themselves until Alex goes carnivorous and attacks Marty which causes him to run off to the carnivore side of the island where he started to feel sad and guilty for trying to attack his friends. Marty sets out to find him and refuses to leave without him.

Alex is a main deuteragonist of Madagascar. He is a lion from the Central Park Zoo with 3 friends: Marty, Gloria and Melman. Alex's father Zuba, was teaching Alex how to hunt, or, "to fight." Zuba grabs a toy, for Alex to hunt it. Instead, Alex dances instead of hunting. Zuba says "No dancing!".
