The McDonnell F-101 Voodoo is a supersonic jet fighter designed and produced by the American McDonnell Aircraft Corporation. Development of the F-101 began in the late 1940s as a long-range bomber escort (then known as a penetration fighter) for the United States Air Force's (USAF) Strategic Air Command (SAC).

The F-101B adopted a tandem two-place cockpit with an operator in the rear seat to manage the MG-13 radar intended for the F-102 and the SAGE datalink. The F-101B was powered by a pair of J57-P-55 engines that pushed the F-101B to Mach 1.85.

The pressurized cockpit is enclosed by a clam-shell canopy. A drag chute contained in the empennage significantly reduces landing roll distances. The National Museum of the United States Air Force does not have an F-101A on display; however, an F-101B is on display in the Cold War Gallery and an RF-101C is on display in the Modern Flight Gallery .
