God's pattern, beginning back in Genesis 15, is to scatter, to destroy when the iniquity is full. God determines what "full" is, and it might be different for the Amorites than it is for those who have made a covenant with Him.

God is not nearly so quick to judge the evil or reward the righteous. The principle that undergirds this obvious reality is one that I call “the filling of the cup.” It is a truth that is abundantly revealed in Scripture and plays a major role in the last days scenario that Revelation speaks of.

Jan 4, 2022 · The Amorites’ sin had not escaped God’s notice. He was keeping track of the measure of their sins, and, during Abraham’s time, it was not yet “full.” So the Amorites were warned that judgment was coming. It is sad that they did not take advantage of their time of grace.
