Oct 12, 2018 · Seeing guts crying like this in chapter 8 was one of the most shocking moments in my berserk’s first time reading experience, i used to think that guts is such a badass and someone with no feelings or emotions so it was just surprising to see him like that.

Guts literally tells her “Why don’t you go ahead and Kill yourself” and gives her a blade to do so. Pretty shitty explanation but yeah. He cries after he realizes his actions to her and that he relates to her when he was a child.

Looking at Guts' tragically grieving face gained from the realization that he screwed over another child's future despite smirking and taunting seconds ago really made him sympathize with him.

I don't think Guts has really allowed himself to just feel his sadness without all the other emotions diluting it to a degree. If he had at any moment in his journey, it might have just stopped him in his tracks forever.
