He almost died when Madara extracted Kurama from Naruto, because Naruto was fighting a war and he was low on stamina. I don't think that the dynamic was in favour of Kurama. Kurama manipulated him, sure, but he was doing it in order to be free from Naruto and break the seal.

Jan 31, 2022 · It wasn’t after the fist bump that kurama started fading away . It has always been this way when kurama and naruto link or share chakra . They bump their fists. This might be far fetched and the story will probably not allow it . But it could be cool if kurama actually planned his death in order for naruto to grow stronger by himself .

Thirdly Momoshiki was taken out by Boruto so his scaling in general is all over the place tbh. One minute he's fighting Sasuke and Naruto at the same time, the next minute he gets overpowered by a child and killed.
