Benno was a slow-witted farmhand at May's Farm. He was portrayed by Max Fairchild. It is not known if Benno is May Swaisey 's son, cousin, or employee. He's not very smart, but shows a lot of goodwill to help May, then Max when it comes to reuniting with his wife Jessie and son Sprog.

May was a farmer who owned many acres of land, which she maintained with the help of her farmhand (who may have been her son or relative), named Benno. In the movie, she welcomes Max and his wife when they want to hide from the Toecutter's Gang who is stalking them.

Besides Mel Gibson, he is the only other actor to appear in both Mad Max (1979) and The Road Warrior (1981). He played Benno Swaisey in the former and a broken victim in the latter.

I have always imagined it was the same character (big farmboy) from "Mad Max" that had managed to survive the apocolypse by way of his brawn (as "Blaster").
