Feb 23, 2024 · It feels like Gen 3 should have been gen 2, and gen 2 should have been gen 3. In cannon look wise, gen 3 looks less advanced compared to gen 2. Gen 2 looks more refined in sense in that new micro technologies allows parts to be combined, requiring less bulk in turn making a more form fitting suit.

The jump from Gen 2 to Gen 3 is more like the old Mark progression, but instead of creating one new and better variant, the goal was to upgrade the whole Mjolnir system so any variant could be improved.

Nov 4, 2021 · The Mark VII is from GEN 1 the prototype is the one Naomi uses. GEN 2 uses some technology from the Mark VII, some Suits were issued but was too costly that they never were mass produced. Spartan-IVs can use GEN 3 and this is were the Mark VII finally saw use, being the testbed.

Gen 1 in general had a lot of places where the armor plating got in the way of motion, to the extent that it clips a lot in gameplay. Gen 2 doesn't have this problem as much because of the size and spacing of the plating; shoulder pauldrons are also lifted off the arm more.
