Mount Foraker is a 17,400-foot (5,304 m) mountain in the central Alaska Range, in Denali National Park, 14 mi (23 km) southwest of Denali. It is the second highest peak in the Alaska Range, and the third highest peak in the United States.

Mount Foraker, or Sultana as it is known by the Athabascans, stands proudly as Denali's wife. At 17,400 feet it is the sixth highest mountain in North America. Sultana was renamed in honor of Ohio senator Joseph Foraker in 1899 by Joseph Herron.

Mt. Foraker is a gem within Denali National Park and Preserve. It is the Alaska Range’s second-highest mountain and sixth-highest in North America. Located 8 miles from Denali, it rises above the Kahiltna Glacier like a towering cathedral.

Registration for the 2025 mountaineering season for climbs of Mount McKinley or Mount Foraker opens January 1, 2025. Registration is now a two-step process involving (1) fee payment at the Pay.gov site and (2) email submission of the Application for Special Use Permit form linked below.
