Canine Unit (K9) The O.C.P.D. Canine Unit was established in 1963 with five handler/dog teams for the purpose of locating suspected criminals in hiding and finding evidence. The unit is currently comprised of nine canine teams and a police lieutenant who serves as the unit supervisor.
