I have connected a Canon ZR300 mini-DV camcorder to my pc using a firewire cable, adapter firewire to thunderbolt, and adapter thunderbolt to thunderbolt over USB-C. I can see the camera called "Canon DV Camcorder" under Imaging Devices in Device Manager.

Jan 31, 2022 · Even though my Camcorder is old, I certainly agree with your comment, it still should download using firewire 400 port. This is a windows 10 /software/driver/1394 card /issue for sure. I have downloaded a Legacy driver for 1394 port and trying that out in the meantime while I await the newer 1394 card.

Sep 13, 2018 · It will not resolve the issue of the camcorder not being recognized. That is the driver. And looks like it is an old Camcorder. If you have the CD for the Camcorder then try installing the driver too using compatibility mode for the operating system version shown on the CD or in the manual. From what I seen it had XP drivers So insert the CD
