The WSU logo, pairing the Cougar head and our hybrid typeface, is the centerpiece of our visual identity. It acts as a signature, an identifier, and the most visible representative of Washington State University.

Gold speaks to the UW being the gold standard for excellence and positive impact. Expanded color options now include the dynamic spirit palette featuring an additional gold and purple plus complementary pink, teal, lavender and green accents.

Crimson, gray, and white are the foundation of the WSU color palette. They serve as the brand’s primary colors for print, electronic, and environmental applications.

WSU’s visual identity is a collection of symbols, logos, icons, and photography. Together, these elements represent and reflect WSU’s rich history, culture, and offerings. The imagery we use is inclusive of WSU’s many campuses and other WSU locations.

Logos will be made available for all WSU campuses and colleges. Design and Printing Services will be able to assist you in creating your unit’s unique logo. My center uses a logo/artwork that is not part of the new visual identity system.

Originally created in 1936 by Randall Johnson, the Cougar Head remains a unique and distinguished part of the WSU identity.
