The Great Mughals: Art, Architecture and Opulence
This major exhibition celebrates the extraordinary creative output and internationalist culture of the Golden Age of the Mughal Court (about 1560 – 1660) during the reigns of its most famous emperors: Akbar, Jahangir and Shah Jahan.
Paintings - V&A
The paintings collection includes more than 2,000 paintings in oil, tempera, and fresco, from 15th century to the present day. The collection is largely European, with particular strength in 19th-century British art.

Jewellery - V&A
Highlights include a gold Celtic breastplate, jewelled pendants given by Elizabeth I to her courtiers, diamonds worn by Catherine the Great of Russia, jewellery by the art-nouveau designer, Réné Lalique, diamond tiaras by Cartier, and contemporary works by Wendy Ramshaw, Peter Chang and Marjorie Schick.

Ceramics - V&A
The collections are particularly strong in international contemporary studio ceramics, European porcelain and pottery from 1500 onwards, and ceramics from China, Japan and the Middle East.
About The Great Mughals: Art, Architecture and Opulence exhibition
The finale showcases precious stones from the Imperial Workshops, and the uniquely Mughal cuts of diamonds from Golconda.
